Sr. Pago started in 2010 by providing a virtual point of sale (VPOS) service for e-commerce. This enables online retailers to accept payment from customers at Mexico’s largest convenience store chain, OXXO, which has more than 11,000 stores throughout the country. With this service, people who do not have credit or debit cards, or have them but are unwilling to disclose them online for fear of fraud, can make e-commerce transactions.
In 2013, Sr. Pago introduced an online service and card readers that enables small business and independent professionals to accept debit and credit card payments at the mobile point of sale (MPOS). Sr. Pago is currently the largest MPOS provider in Mexico with more than $700,000 in monthly transactions.
In Q2 of 2014, Sr. Pago will be introducing a new service targeted primarily to the “unbanked” in Mexico.
