The goal of Salz & Brot* is to drastically improve the market for apartment rentals in metropolitan areas, which is governed by expensive commissions and process ineffeciencies. Our product has turned existing market dynamics up side down, where previously apartment owners and property managers pay considerable amounts to upload their apartment listings and apartment hunters pay high comissions despite facing fierce competition. Salz&Brot offers free listings as long as these are comission-free and allows apartment hunters to chose between a free or premium account, which offers enhanced functionality. * Salz&Brot means Salt & Bread in German.
The name is based on an old European custom whereby guests bring salt and bread when invited to a friend's new home.
